Independent Chucks (IC)

AS Type Chucks are generally used for second operations and in toolrooms where higher accuracy is required. These chucks are adjustable up to 0.005 mm, with a repeating accuracy of within 0.015 mm on the same diameter. 

LIMITATIONS
AS Type Chucks are slightly unbalanced due to their adjustment feature, which may cause spindle vibration at high speeds. 

ADJUSTING PROCEDURE

1. Secure the workpiece in the chuck.
2. Loosen the adjusting screws using the provided key.
3. Position a dial indicator against the workpiece and rotate the chuck to obtain the lowest reading.
4. Tighten the adjusting screw closest to the lowest reading until the gauge needle moves to half of the total concentricity reading.
5. Repeat the adjustment process until the desired level of concentricity is achieved.
6. Check all adjusting screws for full tightness.

No further adjustments are required for repetitive machining of similar jobs, provided they fall within 0.015 mm accuracy. Always use the nominated pinion for consistent gripping accuracy.
